In partnership with Sussex Cricket Foundation and Crawley Borough Council, Crawley Town Community Foundation are pleased to announce the launch of Crawley Sporting Memories in the New Year.
Launching at Crawley Museum on the 13th January 2022, these weekly clubs are aimed at anyone over the age of 50 who love to reminisce about either playing or watching sport.
Sporting Memories Clubs are welcoming, friendly and free to attend with sessions offering people the chance to get together with like-minded people, make new friends and have fun.
We believe these community clubs are so important and it is wonderful to have this on offer again in Crawley.
We are also pleased to announced we are working in partnership with Crawley Borough Council as part of Dementia Friendly Crawley for the Sporting Memories which will allow participants to walk through Crawley’s history and reminisce about more than just sport.
Darren Ford, Head of Crawley Town Community Foundation, said this about the programme, “At some point in our lives we have all participated in sport and hopefully have more positive memories than negative ones. To be able to support people to reminisce and use these sessions to stimulate conversation and support memory recall, is an area of work we are delighted to be involved in and I am sure many more memories will be created at the sessions.”
With the New Year just around the corner, come along and join us at Crawley Museum on Thursday 13th January, 10-11.30am – we look forward to hearing all about your Sporting Memories!
