Your Guide to Support: Mental Health Week 2024

This week is Mental Health Awareness week and for many, right now might be a challenging time. Here at the Crawley Town Community Foundation, we would like to share some support networks available to you, some not only in Crawley but across the UK.  




 

 

Move the Goalposts a mental health focused session. It takes place once a week at the club's Broadfield Stadium ball court; It is a light-hearted, lively and supportive group with a competitive spirit.

It is a session for those experiencing - or at risk of experiencing - mental health issues; and is open to anyone over the age of 18. 

​ 

As a champion of wellbeing, the Foundation use session to get people active, talking and release some of the feel-good factor in our participants. 

​ 

We want to tackle mental health issues and have a list of recommendations to help alleviate problems you may have from leading organisations here. Sessions run every Wednesday at the Broadfield Stadium from 3-4pm and is free of charge. 

 

 

Extra Time Hubs marks the end of the Foundation's week with a bustling social group for Crawley's 50+ community. The Foundation is committed to tackling loneliness and social isolation and the Hub is our mainstay community initiative driving that fight.

The Suite at the Broadfield Stadium hosts special guests, games, seated exercises, pool and conversation with Walking Football outside on the ball court.  

​ 

Our flagship community session has grown since our re-launch last year and we are always welcoming new faces to our group. 

 

 

Premier League Kicks aims to inspire young people to get active and play. Using sport to drive participation, the programme helps children in Crawley. We deliver 11 hours of football a week at various locations around Crawley with over 500 players. Our free sessions are listed below:

Multi-Sport | 6-8pm | Oriel Youth Wing | 12-18 years 

Dance | 5-6pm | Broadfield Stadium Suite | 8-16 years 

 

Wednesday(s)  

 

Multi-Sport | 6:30-8:30pm | Dormans Youth Arts | 12-17 years 

Thursday(s) 

 

Multi-Sport | 4-6pm | Bewbush Youth Centre | 8-13 years 

 

Fridays(s) ALL at Broadfield Stadium  

 

Girls Only Football | 5-6pm | Broadfield Stadium | 8-18 years 

Junior Football | 6-7pm | Broadfield Stadium | 8-12 years 

Senior Football | 7-8pm | Broadfield Staduim | 12-18 years 

 

 

Football is for everyone, regardless of ability and so our dedicated team of coaches are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can develop their skills, make new friends, and experience the joy of the game. We support many of our current players through many mental health challenges, as well as those with physical and learning difficulties, and continue to do so week in week out. Sessions run every Tuesday at the Broadfield Stadium from 1pm-2pm and cost £5.  

 

 

Other organisations who can support you:  

 

The Mental Healthline is for anyone in West Sussex who has questions or concerns about a mental health related issue. It is available 24 hours seven days a week (including bank holidays) - call NHS 111 and select the mental health option. See the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust website for more information. 

 

West Sussex Mind is an independent local charity. They support people with their mental health, provide specialist training and campaign to improve services. 

 

Samaritans is a registered charity aimed at providing emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope or at risk of suicide throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, often through its telephone helpline.
