NCS Wave Leader

Job Description

  • To lead a wave made up of multiple teams, each having two members of staff and up to 16 participants (aged between 15 and 17-years old) on the NCS programme

  • To provide a point of contact and support for all programme staff. To be the main point of contact between activity, progress on the wave, core staff and outside agencies and stakeholders

 

This is a demanding yet fulfilling position that is suitable for someone who has significant experience of working with young people on NCS or alternative residential youth provision. We require wave leaders with knowledge of support requirements and who are experienced in managing challenging behaviour.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Ultimate responsibility for the health and safety, wellbeing, and engagement of staff and young people on one half of an NCS wave 

  • Provide regular support to staff including mentoring and support to Team Leaders, especially in relation to behaviour management, reflection and session delivery

  • Ensure key policies and procedures are followed and administration is completed accurately during the wave, including incident reporting, reporting safeguarding and staff management 

  • Relationship management with residential partners and other stakeholders

  • Work intensively with individual young people providing support as required throughout NCS, this relates to behavioural, physical or emotional support

  • Ensure the NCS code of conduct is upheld throughout the programme

  • Support the Onsite Manager with administering and maintaining the disciplinary system where required and to assist in running team meetings

  • Participate alongside the young people on a variety of outdoor activities

  • Deliver selected sessions during Phase 2 and Phase 3 where necessary

NCS Team Leader

Job Description

  • To safely lead a team of up to 16 young people (aged between 15 and 17-years old) through each of the 3 phases of the NCS programme

  • Engage with young people and provide pastoral care and behaviour management throughout

 

This is a demanding yet fulfilling position suitable for someone who has significant experience of working with young people, who has knowledge of support requirements, and who is experienced in managing challenging behaviour.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Work intensively with young people with any support requirements, this could refer to behavioural, physical or emotional support

  • Support the Staff Team in overall management and delivery of the programme

  • Work residentially during Phase 1 and Phase 2 of NCS

  • Lead guided reflection

  • Complete key administration tasks

  • Follow protocol in safeguarding, accident/incident, information governance, health and safety and risk assessment

  • Participate alongside our young people on a variety of outdoor activities, for example camping outdoors, rock climbing or kayaking during Phase 1 of NCS

  • Positively engage with community partners and manage the relationship

NCS Manager

Salary: £24,000 to £32,000 p.a

Job Description: 

 

The NCS Programme Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of a high quality, safe and to specification programme for Crawley Town Community Foundation (CTCF). Responsibilities extend to the management of operational and administrative staff, oversight of health and safety and safeguarding matters as well as operational deployment and incident management.  The role will be the key liaison between CTCF and the commissioning body, The EFL Trust.

 

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  1. To develop and implement a project, recruitment and community engagement strategy to recruit and retain young people onto the NCS programme.

  2. To achieve weekly and monthly targets as set out by the contract managing partner and/or Funding Organisation.

  3. Review recruitment data to monitor performance against overall targets and to identify and adjust approach where performance is under agreed targets.

  4. To develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders including EFL Trust, NCS Trust, schools, colleges, local authority and voluntary sector organisations.

  5. Meet regularly with appointed EFL Trust Performance Manager to review current performance across all aspects of the NCS programme

  6. To understand and manage performance against contractual KPIs

  7. Develop partnerships that support recruitment and delivery of the NCS programme

  8. To line manage and support the NCS team, setting, reviewing and monitoring team and individual

    targets and objectives in line with those flowed down by the Managing Partner and/or Funding Organisation

  1. Manage the requirements of the contract and communicate these to the NCS staff team.

  2. Management of the programme expenditure and budgets

  3. Be responsible for the safeguarding of the young people, both participating and working on

    programme and be responsible for incident management

  4. Ensure appropriate Risk Assessments are undertaken and be responsible for programme Health

    and Safety matters

  5. To be the main point of contact for both NCS Trust and EFL Trust Health and Safety or Quality

    Assurance

    visits

  6. Attend regional and national meetings and contribute to best practice sharing across the EFL Trust

    network.

  7. Identify key areas of best practice and areas for development within your own NCS delivery to ensure the continuous improvement of the NCS programme

  8. Ensure the NCS programme achieves the customer satisfaction score benchmark as set by the funding body.

  9. Lead on the development of the NCS programme delivery timetable, ensuring all submission deadlines are adhered to.

  10. Ensure the Programme Quality Framework and agreed timetable is embedded throughout the NCS delivery.

  11. Oversee the recruitment and training of seasonal delivery staff ensuring contractual safer recruitment is adhered to and that the staff are performance managed and supported.

  12. Manage delivery staff rotas to ensure staffing ratios and adequate rest periods are adhered to during the delivering the NCS programme

What is the role?

We have an exciting vacancy for a sessional Football Coach to come onboard and join our team at Crawley Town. This role will focus on the delivery of Football & Sports Development programmes across the community, primarily to children ages 4-16.

The right candidate will be able to deliver engaging and inspiring sessions across our various programmes. Ideally, this candidate will have previous experience of working with these age groups in a range of different settings. This person will need to have excellent communication skills to liase with parents; teachers and players in a professional and polite manner. The competencies that are required are:

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- FA Level 2 Coaching Qualification (FA Level 1 will be considered)

- In date FA Safeguarding and FA Emergency First Aid Certificate

- Experience of coaching sport to children & young people

- Experience of managing relationships with children, parents & teachers

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

- Driving Licence

- AFPE Level 3 in Supporting the Delivery of PE and School Sport

- UEFA B Licence

- Other NGB Qualifications

- Experience of working with a variety of age groups
