To be responsible for the delivery of football and PE sessions in connection with the Schools Sports Programme, including but not exclusive to Lunchtime Clubs, After-School Clubs, Premier League Primary Stars and Soccer Schools. This role will also provide opportunities to work across additional programmes such as Elite & Development Centres, PL Kicks, Recreational Football and Match Day Duties.

  • Creating and improving relationships with Crawley schools.

  • Maintaining the welfare of and safeguarding children and young people.

  • Producing session plans and ensuring the learning is age appropriate and of high quality.

  • Undertaking administrative duties such as collecting and recording participant information.

  • Ensuring programmes are delivered to a high standard and incorporate relevant safeguarding and health and safety procedures, including:

  • Delivering sessions within the Football and Sports Development programme.

  • Adhering to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any related legislation; and

  • Promoting the Foundation’s policies, rules and procedures on health and safety.

  • Establishing contact with individuals from all sections of the community, including:

  • Maintaining existing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Using promotional material to signpost potential participants to sessions run by the Foundation.

  • Working with the School Sports Programme Coordinator to plan, deliver and review sessions delivered, including:

  • Creating session plans that meet the needs of the participants.

  • Managing the behaviour of participants during sessions.

  • Delivering fun and engaging sessions.

  • Reflecting on session plans.


The Foundation reserves the right to vary or amend the duties and responsibilities of the post holder at any time according to the needs of the Foundation’s business.


The competencies that are required are:


  • FA Level 1 Football Coach.

  • Emergency First Aid and Safeguarding Children Certificates.

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate.

  • Driving Licence and access to a fully insured vehicle.


  • FA Level 2 Football Coach.

  • UEFA B Football Coach.

  • FA Youth Module 1, 2 & 3, plus Youth Award.

  • AfPE Level 3 in Assisting the Delivery of PE in Primary Schools.

  • Level 2 Multi-Skills.

  • Relevant University Degree.




  • Planning and delivering football/PE coaching sessions.

  • Marketing with the aim of increasing sports participation.

  • Using a range of strategies to engage with various groups of learners.

  • Understanding of safeguarding issues.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Experience of delivering versatile coaching sessions.
