We are excited to announce trial dates for u16s and u19s.
The u16’s trials for Development and Elite centres are on Monday 11th February 6:30pm – 8pm at Worth School (Paddockhurst Rd, Crawley RH10 4SD).
So what is the u16s?
The U16 squad is for those players who excel at the required level. The u16s does not take players away from their existing youth teams, but is an additional training session with representational fixtures during school holidays intended to help nurture the next generation of talented football players.
They will concentrate on improving technical and tactical skills, which helps to develop each player individually through their strengths and weaknesses to become better players and at the same time improve their game and team understanding.
The u16s will train at Worth School for an hour and half every week, which allows for longer training sessions with a full size training space, allowing the players more time in a real football setting to harness their skills.
Football Development Coach Dan Fairall said this about the u16s moving to Worth, "Moving to Worth School will provide us with an opportunity to work on realistic game practices and train for longer.
I am looking forward to the upcoming trials to see the talent out there, and that we could potentially have coming into the u16s. With the talent we already have in this group it is an exciting prospect, and one I think will be very good for us as a squad."
The squad gives the participants a chance to represent Crawley Town during the school holidays in fixtures against other u16 teams across the UK, which includes home & away fixtures against other EFL and Premier League sides.
For those selected and as part of the Player Pathway, progression from the u16s is into the u19s and the BTEC National Diploma in Sport. This is a 2-3 year course; allowing students the opportunity to gain qualifications whilst at the same time continue to represent Crawley Town at u19s level against EFL and Premier League teams.
For those who excel, the Crawley Town u23s or 1st team are within range.
Head of Sport and Football Development Kayleigh Bowers said this about moving to Worth School, “A change in facility means we can expand our u16s squad. We are delighted to be moving to Worth School and to use their AstroTurf pitch. Our relationship with the school has really blossomed over the last year, and we are keen to link with them when we can.
Our u16’s squad is part of our Player Pathway that feeds into our u19’s squad. We are very excited to see what the trialists bring to the table.”

The u19s trials will be held on Monday 18th February at the People’s Pension Stadium 3G Ballcourt at 10am.
Boys and girls aged 16 – 19 year’s old can study the BTEC Level 2 – 3 National Diploma in Sport and represent Crawley Town FC u19s as a part of the 11-a-side National Youth Programme playing against Premier league and Football League Clubs.
The programme is delivered by Crawley Town teaching staff in partnership with Holy Trinity Sixth Form, where students have the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification while being a part of an extensive football programme.
The trials are invitation only, and spaces are filling up fast.
