Extra Time Hubs to Expand as Restrictions Ease

Crawley Town Community Foundation are one of 11 Clubs in the country selected to deliver the Extra Time Hubs. Working in partnership with the EFL Trust funded by the National Lottery and Sport England, our aim is support people over the age of 55 to increase their activity levels, reduce social isolation and levels of loneliness.

We welcome members of the community who may already be active, as it is important to stay active and as you may be able to support those who are less active.

During lockdown, Extra Time Hubs alongside Tackling Loneliness Together became our biggest form of support across the community. Aimed at reducing isolation and loneliness during the period of isolation/lockdown.

Contact was made through virtual Extra Time Hubs sessions, as well as phone calls or garden gate visits.

As restrictions are easing, we are introducing new sessions to our Extra Time Hubs members around Crawley based on participant preferences.

The new sessions include Walk & Talk (Wednesday 10am – 11am) and Photography (Thursday 10am to 11am) with members having the opportunity to meet in different parts of Crawley and socialise with members new and old. As well as a monthly Virtual Book Club session on the first Monday of every month from 10am – 11am.

These new additions come as Extra Time Hubs has absorbed Tackling Loneliness Together after the completion of that programme in March 2021, creating more session in support participants physical and mental wellbeing.

If you are interested or knows someone who would be interested in joining our Extra Time Hubs sessions, fill out the consent form today - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeiIl3wrdA4as2JVC-eVZHV70GWic5B5BDpdI-1UMUp1e1kjg/viewform?usp=sf_link

As we look forward and as restrictions ease, we continue our phased return to supporting the community in a variety of ways.

With the new season fast approaching we hope to get back to a ‘new normal’ and restart or launch new programmes across the Crawley area.
