From the 21st to 23rd December the Foundation took over 140 players from our U8s to U16s Youth Teams to Wycombe to play fixtures against both Wycombe Wanderers and Northampton Town Youth squads.
Across an exciting 3 days of matches, we witnessed a lot of fantastic individual and team performances across all fixtures.
Each day consisted of 4 matches being played against the Wycombe and Northampton sides, with regular breaks and tactical team discussions providing busy days for each age group from 10am to 5pm.
Our U8s, U9s, U10s and U11s played some tough teams but kept playing the Crawley way, being confident and explosive. Each team played really well, displaying some great creativity and team work on and off the ball. Overall, there was some brilliant performances and goals, with U11 our player Omar grabbing goal of the day!
Our U13s, U14s and U16s also played full 11-a-side matches giving them the footballing experience to carry forward into future matches, training or grassroots teams.
As part of their weekly training our U16s have been training in the style of our U19s Education Academy first team, playing in the same way and putting in a professional performance for the match highlight win across the 3 days, in a 4-0 win.
It was great to provide our players with memories and experiences and it was even better to see them perform to their potential.
Ian Cobbett, Player Pathway Co-ordinator said this, “Three fantastic days watching our players represent Crawley Town against a very good Wycombe and Northampton set up.
Our teams were tested at every age group and gave everything to the cause, figuring out scenarios, decisions and how to get the best out of themselves and their team mates. I am very proud of all of our players.”
