This year has been a successful year for our Extra Time Hubs programme. The programme is designed and aimed for members of the community, aged 55+ to attend a variety of activities and creating a support network for those accessing the weekly sessions.
Throughout the last 2 years, we have been able to grow our sessions in order to create more of a support network for members of the Crawley community.
Through our weekly sessions including - face-to-face at The People’s Pension stadium where we host activities including, arts & crafts, physical activity sessions, board games and quizzes, alongside an assortment of relevant guest speakers to support their every need.
Alongside this session we host our Wellbeing Walks (Wednesday), Photography (Thursday), Walking Football (Friday) and an additional indoor session at Bewbush Youth Centre on a Wednesday morning.
On Friday 17th December, we hosted a small Christmas party for our participants, where they took part in a festive quiz and raffle. As well as special guests including past staff members and the Milton Mount Community Choir hosting a carolling session. All whilst interacting with each other over a cup of tea and a mince pie.
Don’t forget we are set to launch our new Extra Time Hubs session, called Sporting Memories on the 13th January 2022 from 10 am – 11:30am at Crawley Museum. These weekly clubs are aimed at anyone over the age of 50 who love to reminisce about either playing or watching sport.
In partnership with Crawley Borough Council as part of Dementia Friendly Crawley for the Sporting Memories which will allow participants to walk through Crawley’s history and reminisce about more than just sport.
If you would like to come along and join in, our main Hubs session is every Friday from 11:30am – 1:30pm returning 7th January, all abilities are welcome and you don’t have to be 55+ to join. The cost is £3 per week, with your first session FREE.
