On the 19th September the Crawley Town under 19's A team played their second game of the National Football Youth League at home to AFC Bournemouth's under 19's which ended in a 3-2 win to the Reds.
In the first half, both teams started brightly creating an even amount of chances between both sides. The first goal eventually came and it was Bournemouth who took the lead before Jordon Smith was fouled in the box which lead to a Penalty to Crawley. Jordon Smith was able to keep his nerve from the spot and converted the spot kick to make the scoring even at 1-1. But t was Bournemouth who had the final say of the half as they managed to score just before half time from a free-kick.
The Second half continued in the same way as the first with both teams creating chances, but it was Crawley who scored next, yet again from the penalty spot with Jordon Smith managing to get his second goal of the game to level the scoring at 2-2.
It seemed that both sides would have to settle for the point each before in the 85 minute when neat football by Crawley lead to Josh Hawkins strike sealing the 3 points for the Reds in this close encounter.
The next game for our under 19's comes on the 21st September when our Reserves travel to Watford looking to gain their first points of the season.
