The arrival of our Virtual Mini Reds & Saturday Soccer Centre sessions

As community organisations continue to look for new ways of engaging their audiences, Crawley Town Community Foundation has continued to use online and social media platforms to support their participants.

The Foundations, Schools and Football Development team have recently added their popular Saturday sessions to its online calendar with the Mini Reds and Saturday Soccer Centre sessions now available to access through Zoom.

Our Mini Reds, interactive virtual football session, teaches participants skills designed to help develop basic movements. This also allows for the skills taught within each session to be put into practice throughout the week and supports both physical and mental wellbeing, especially during the current restrictions.

This 30 minute session is delivered from 9:00am - 9:30am, for 2 – 6-year-olds, with the aim to develop and learn new skills, as well as having fun through football.

The Saturday Soccer Centre, is a platform for our players to practice and learn new skills. Allowing the skills learnt to be practiced anywhere and at any time, again supporting physical and mental wellbeing. With emphasis focused upon controlling the ball in a safe manner, being creative with the skills learnt and having fun. This session is delivered from 9:45am – 10:15am, for 6–13-year-olds.

Ian Cobbett, Player Pathway Co-ordinator said this about the sessions, “Saturday morning is always one of the highlights of my week, seeing the kids so invested in playing football and talking about football whilst having fun. Without school, it’s hard to keep active and engaged and we are giving them tools to keep playing when at home, with a smile on their face”

Both sessions are delivered via Zoom, if you are interested in taking part please email IanCobbett@crawleytownfc.com or sign-up to our new virtual sessions here - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd736kW_cByaH5e2NeqmAvuAKe3kHEkPp_LbuAeYL69ws8euQ/viewform?usp=sf_link
