Updated: Mar 31

Charlie Pettipher and Charlie Cox named as the Foundations, Football Education Programme - Players of the Month.

Last week, saw both students crowned player, or should we say players of the month. Selected by Head Coach, Rob Semark and Assistant Coach, James McCallum, who both recognised the progress both players have made throughout the season.

Defender, Charlie Pettipher has made 19 appearances for the South Premier squad, who play on Wednesday’s it is during those appearances Charlie has excelled, being able to play anywhere across the Crawley back line.

Coaching staff spoke of Charlie’s development recently ‘He has been a consistent and versatile presence throughout the season and has become a very important piece of the squad's defensive unit. He has shown resilience and character when asked to do different jobs for the team.’

Charlie is a 2nd year student and has been with the Foundation since September 2023. In the classroom, Charlie is as hardworking as he is on the pitch, receiving the programme award at last seasons end of season awards from the Foundations Education Manager.

From defenders to wingers, Charlie Cox is currently the South Reserves 2nd top goal scorer. With 14 goals in 18 appearances, Charlie’s season has been nothing short of a goal fest. Charlie has also adopted his signature celebration during the season, one that is very popular on the Foundation’s media outlets.
